Current Show
Bare Bones: Staged Readings at Theatre@First is an exciting new project offering directors, casts and audience a chance to explore a wide variety of plays in a spare, intense setting. The first play in the series, TRAGEDY: a tragedy, will be performed at 8pm on March 27 & 28th, 2010 at the Unity Church of God in Davis Square.
Call for Directors
Theatre@First seeks directors for its seventh annual festival of one-act plays. The theme is "Shakespeare with a Twist" or "Shaken Up Shakespeare" (exact title to be chosen after plays are selected). We are looking for re-contextualized scenes from Shakespeare's canon and/or short plays inspired by this work. To learn more, download the call for directors and application form here (44k Word doc)
New Deadline! Applications are due by March 22, with intent to submit requested beforehand, if possible. If you are interested in working on this project in another capacity, please contact one-acts@theatreatfirst.org.
New Improv Workshop Program
Join us for Impromptu, a new series of free improvisation workshops led by members of the Theatre@First community. Sessions will be an opportunity for participants of all levels to learn new skills or hone old ones. With three six-week sessions running throughout the year, and a rotating cast of instructors with their own approaches to improv, there is sure to be something for everyone. At the end of each six-week session, participants will be able to show off their skills for family and friends at a one-night-only improv performance.
